Human Resources Health & Safety Intern

As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking detail oriented Human Resources students who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary HR program and who have a mandatory internship to complete as part of this program for the position of Human Resources Health & Safety Intern located at our Head Office in Guelph, Ontario.

Job Description

Looking for a chance to make your mark in a fast-paced, professional and fun environment while gaining invaluable hands on experience?  As Human Resources Health & Safety Intern, you will be providing general support to the HR department with a focus on Health & Safety to reach Skyline’s shared goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.

What we look for:

  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation, i.e. ESA, OHSA and its regulations, WSIB, Human Rights
  • Particular interest in Health & Safety and the ability to research health & safety regulations across Canada 
  • Strong administrative and research skills .
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy with highly confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, French is an asset
  • Significant sense of humour
  • Superior multi-tasking and organizational skills while remaining detail oriented.
  • Able to be proactive with good problem solving skills, judgment and innovation.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with an enthusiasm for working with the public
  • Capable of operating under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Enrolled in Post-Secondary HR Diploma or Certificate program with an internship component to complete required. This is mandatory as the internship is unpaid.
  • High school diploma required
